Labelling for a Greener Tomorrow...

Bio Polymer

Bio-Polymer yarn is spun from vegetable oil. Unlike other natural yarns such as cotton, linen etc these yarns are thermo-plastic and therefore processed like polyester and polyamide yarns.

Recently developed Bio-Polymers are derived from renewable biomass that can be grown in arid areas needing little irrigation therefore neither putting pressure on scarce water resources nor competing with food production or rain forests.

Environmental benefits

  • 100% sustainable
  • Reduced CO2 and greenhouse gasses
  • Reduced dependency on fossil fuels
  • Low water usage
Production of Bio-Yarns
  1. Seeds are harvested from the plants
  2. The seeds are crushed and the oil is extracted
  3. The oil is synthesised to form the polymers
  4. The polymer is extruded to form continuous filaments for yarn production
